Life makes a constant impression on me. From the visual world to the depths of my unconscious, images yearn to express themselves through my hands. The means of which these ideas come to reality vary, making adaptability a core to my work. The journey is the translation of feeling.
My paintings are made through conversation with the plane. Inklings of ideas come through and are placed on the canvas, often generating new direction. This change is what I am adapting to. Each work is vulnerable experimentation. The surface speaks to me (the “me” that is present). I’ve found that the paintings carry meaning through time, allowing for new interpretations.
My photographs are made in much the same way. By engaging in the present world, I discover scenes that call to be captured. These pictures are based in what I find beautiful.
Without formal art education, I supplement learning by way of literature in art, artists, philosophers, psychologists, theoreticians, and occasional sci-fi.
